At Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, we have always placed an emphasis on the safety of our team members and guests. We always follow rigorous procedures to ensure we operate safely and within all government regulations.
The COVID-19 pandemic has required us to review and introduce a range of new health and safety measures that are in line with the government advice and health requirements.
To make sure when we do welcome you back, we do so in the safest way possible. Some of the measures will be clearly visible to you on arrival but, others require consideration from you as our guests.

Before you arrive:

We would appreciate if you pre-book your tickets online at melbournestar.com (where possible).
This helps reduce personal contact with our Guest Relations team.

To help you keep updated we recommend you check out our website for operating days, times and all updates.

We politely request if you have any symptoms associated with COVID-19 you reschedule your visit. Please note all tickets purchased prior to 1 June 2020 have been extended thru to 24 December 2020.

Any tickets purchased after June 1 are subject to normal validation periods as per the terms and conditions of purchase.

On arrival:

On arrival you will notice our new social distancing messaging. We kindly ask that guests follow these very easy instructions.

Our Guest Relations team members are located in a fully enclosed ticketing cabin.

Our ticketing team would prefer cashless payments. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Alipay at no additional cost.

At times there may be an additional waiting time. Please know this is essential to ensure we continue to focus on social distancing. With respect of this we suggest you allow up to 1.5 hours for your visit.

Guests will also be required to provide their name and either phone number or email address to the Welcome Host in line with Victorian Government advice.

New social distancing and health measures:

As with our team members, we request that all guests uphold the highest possible hygiene standards.

Limits have been placed on entry and throughout our attraction to ensure compliance with single space density requirements – a distance of 1.5 metres from all other persons.

All guests will be upgraded to Private Cabins with a maximum of 6 guests per cabin.

We again kindly request all guests to follow our social distancing instructions that we have installed to remind us to allow 1.5 metres between travelling guests.

We have extended our cleaning team, introduced additional cleaning and hygiene practises at all high-frequency touch points including inside cabins.

We have introduced a large number of automated hand sanitiser dispensers for guests to use.

Our staff have access to additional Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required.

All our team members participate in COVID-19 stay safe program.

We will continue to monitor and ensure we have the most up to date robust health, safety and emergency management arrangements in place and our management and operational teams will continue to monitor COVID-19 updates and adhere to the advice provided by the Federal and State Governments.

The Melbourne Star is fully accredited by AM-SAFE, the highest level of amusement device & theme park safety accreditation in Australia. And we are proud to say the Melbourne Star currently operates at one of the lowest downtimes and with one of the most impeccable safety records in the industry.

• Members of our Mechanical & Technical Services team, comprising experts in safety, engineering and maintenance.
• Every aspect of the Melbourne Star’s operation is fully audited by AM-SAFE every year, to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
