Melbourne Star Observation Wheel is open! Thank you to all who have rebooked their flight. We greatly appreciate this and so do our partners who provide us with many services that we all love to experience on our flight.

All tickets purchased thru Melbourne Star between 3rd August 2020 - 12th February 2021 have been extended thru to 31st March 2021.

If you purchased your tickets thru one of our distribution partners between 18th November 2020 - 12th February 2021 your ticket is extended thru to 31st March 2021.

As always we place an emphasis on the safety of our team members and guests. We always follow rigorous procedures to ensure we operate safely and within all government regulations.

The COVID-19 pandemic has required us to review and introduce a range of new health and safety measures that are in line with the government advice and health requirements.

To make sure when we do welcome you back, we do so in the safest way possible. Some of the measures will be clearly visible to you on arrival but, others require consideration from you as our guests.

Before you arrive:

We would appreciate if you pre-book your tickets online at melbournestar.com (where possible).

This helps reduce personal contact with our Guest Relations team and may reduce your waiting time when you arrive onsite. Most pre-purchased tickets allow you to head straight to our Welcome Host.

To help you keep updated we recommend you check out our website for operating days, times and all updates.

We politely request if you have any symptoms associated with COVID-19 you reschedule your visit.

On arrival:

On arrival you will notice our new social distancing messaging. We kindly ask that guests follow these very easy instructions.

Our Guest Relations team members are located in a fully enclosed ticketing cabin.

Our ticketing team would prefer cashless payments. We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Alipay at no additional cost.

At times there may be an additional waiting time. Please know this is essential to ensure we continue to focus on social distancing. With respect of this we suggest you allow up to 1.5 hours for your visit.

In line with Victorian Government advice guests will be required to check in thru the Victorian Government QR Code app which we provide prior to our ticketing office. You will be required to present the check in at your Welcome Host.

New social distancing and health measures:

As with our team members, we request that all guests uphold the highest possible hygiene standards.

All our staff and guests who come onsite must wear a fitted face mask. If you have an exemption, we will need it presented before we can allow your entry.

Limits have been placed on entry and throughout our attraction to ensure compliance with single space density requirements – a distance of 1.5 metres from all other persons.

Current restrictions now allow up to 10 guests per cabin.

For guests travelling together we allow up to 10 guests (including infants and children) in one cabin.

When required we will batch 6 guests who are not travelling together in one cabin.

If you prefer a Private Cabin for just you and your guests a Private Cabin ticket option is available.

We again kindly request all guests to follow our social distancing instructions that we have installed to remind us to allow 1.5 metres between travelling guests.

We have extended our cleaning team, introduced additional cleaning and hygiene practises at all high-frequency touch points including inside cabins.

We have introduced a large number of automated hand sanitiser dispensers for guests to use.

Our staff have access to additional Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required.

All our team members participate in COVID-19 STAY SAFE program.


We will continue to monitor and ensure we have the most up to date robust health, safety and emergency management arrangements in place and our management and operational teams will continue to monitor COVID-19 updates and adhere to the advice provided by the Federal and State Governments.
